How many rhinestones to cover a phone

Change up the colors if you like, add smaller pearls, beads and other pieces that stand out to you. Place rhinestones on the sides of the case if you like.

Let the glue cure dry before you attach it to your phone. Let it sit for about two hours or fully cure overnight. Purchase a fabric sleeve in which you can keep your case. Try not to throw it in your purse. Unfortunately, after a few times of purse abuse, the rhinestones will fall off. Protect it and think of it as a piece of jewelry and it will last a very long time.

What a pretty case to give as a gift to a friend that is sure to turn a few heads! You can even do a simply design, like an initial or heart. If you are using all the same size, arrange them in staggered rows, like bricks on a wall.

If you are using a variety of sizes, start with the largest ones first, then fill in the gaps with the smaller ones. Choose and prepare your glue. If the glue came with a precision tip, leave it as it is. If the glue came in a bottle or tube, squeeze out a coin-sized dollop onto a disposable plate.

You should do this even if the rhinestones are self-adhesive. The glue on these types of rhinestones is not very strong, and they will fall off if you don't glue them down. Pick up a rhinestone and coat the back with glue. Use a pair of jewelry tweezers to pick up your first rhinestone. If your glue bottle came with a precision tip, apply a bead of glue to the back of the rhinestone.

If you poured the glue out, then dip the back of the rhinestone into the glue. Press the rhinestones back onto the case. If you need to, use the tips of your tweezers to nudge the rhinestone back into place. Once you are happy with the placement, gently press down on the top of the rhinestones with the tweezers.

Continue gluing rhinestones to the case. Do not cover any holes for plugs, cameras, buttons, or speakers; work your way around them instead. You can cover just the back of your phone case, or you can cover the back and sides. If you are covering the sides, make sure that the rhinestones fit. If they are too big, they'll hang off of the edges and snag onto everything.

Allow the glue to dry and cure before using the case. Just because the glue feels dry to the touch does not mean that your case is ready to use. Some types of glues also have a curing time. This can be anywhere between 24 and 72 hours. Check the label on your bottle of glue for more specific drying times.

Method 2. Find some blingy items to decorate your case with. Don't get too carried away, however; choose about 3 to 5 blingy items to use as your statement pieces. Brooches, cabochons, and scrapbooking embellishments such as resin roses work especially well for this. Choose pieces that go well together, or your phone case will look too cluttered.

Plan out your design. Arrange the pieces on your phone case, but don't glue them down yet. Again, do not get carried away; you will be filling in the negative space with smaller pearls and rhinestones.

Do not cover up any of the holes for the camera, buttons, or microphone. Glue down your pieces one at a time. Choose a strong, industrial-strength glue, such as E Pick up one of your embellishments, and squeeze out some glue onto the back. NOTE: If you have a total square area, put the total square are in the length field and the number 1 in the width field.

This calculator can help you to estimate, for example, an outline or a single row swirl design. You can use a thread to measure the total length that you need, select a stone size and get a calculation. The easiest way is do decide how many you are going to spread over an inch and multiply by the of inches. Keep in mind the larger the rhinestones the less spacing you have between the stones and vice versa.

For example: Let say that we will be spreading three 3 20ss rhinestones over an inch. So if you have 5 inches to cover, you would need 15 rhinestones. This is very simplified and will give you some extra stones. You may choose to do all the same color, mixes of colors, or actual designs with rhinestones. The final look is up to you.

But, if you want to create a work of art that is unique to you and your phone, I suggest using different colors set up in patterns. For those of you who are "art challenged', then you will need some help. I choose 9SS or 10 ss stones to cover these phones, for this size allows great detail of pattern. If you choose to cover your phone in all one color, then choose 12SS stones, for application will go fast.

Of course, the second most asked question I get is "How many rhinestones will I need to cover my phone". Now, short of being rude, How in the heck am I supposed to know what phone, what model phone, how much you want to cover, etc.??? You will need to measure the area you are planning on covering Our Rhinestone Estimator , would be the easiest place for you to figure out how many stones you need based on the stone size you want to work with.

You need to decide whether you will placed them one next to each other, in a row See the photos. I suggest the 9SS or 10SS rhinestone for a good reason Conversely, the larger the rhinestone, the more apt it is to be torn off, or separated from it's backing leaving a very shiny silver spot where a rhinestone used to be. AND, you will be much more happy with the look of smaller stones pave'' look as opposed to larger rhinestones. IF you really want to get fancy, and if you have a very steady hand and good eyes, then go with a 5 SS or 6ss rhinestone for a phenomenal look!

This is the size that a very prominent purse maker uses to achieve those intricate designs that are over the Top!

Another note to the general public: Your rhinestones will look best if set onto a black surface Do not paint the surface a color that matches the rhinestones, for the overall effect will not be as beautiful as working on black. I do not advise painting any cell phone. If it is silver, green, purple, whatever, so be it.

The over spray can cause a problem.
